James Axtell

James Axtell is a professor emeritus of history at the College of William and Mary. His specialty is early North American history.  He has also taught at Princeton, Yale and at Sarah Lawrence.

Axtell is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Science and was a National Endowment for the Humanities fellow at the Newberry Library in Chicago.
