Eric Hinderaker is Professor of History and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Utah. His research explores early modern imperialism, relations between Europeans and Native Americans, and comparative colonization.
Prof. Hinderaker is the co-author of several textbooks on American history. His 2010 book, The Two Hendricks: Unraveling a Mohawk Mystery (Harvard University Press, 2010), was awarded the Dixon Ryan Fox Prize by the New York State Historical Society and the Herbert H. Lehman Prize by the New York Academy of History.
He is also author of Elusive Empires: Constructing Colonialism in the Ohio Valley, 1673-1800, and At the Edge of Empire: The Backcountry in British North America.
